... Not Just L.A., The City of Angels Is Everywhere...

I was age five when the bishop stood over me and said, "Stop babbling about what the priest did to you." Then, forty years later... I started babbling.

Worst Back-Handed Apology to Explain Away the Pedophile Priest Epidemic in Cathoic Church So Far

.
People think pointing out a serial felonious pedophile operation is criticizing their religion, which like the quote below from a recent feature story about Jeff Anderson, ends up equating the Catholic religion with the crimes.

"I completely understand people when it comes to children who have been molested, whether by priests or family members," Maher said. "These cases happened not under the current Holy Father and not under current bishops, but they're put in the position of having to rectify what has happened and still minister to the people of God and lead them into heaven."

"NO!" I hollered when I read that. First of all, the worst blatant example of buck passing. And:

How dare you combine your defense of criminals with pastoral care. It's such blatant mind manipulation, it's astonishing. How dare they! No wonder so many Catholics shuffle unwilling but dazed back into that Church.

Astounding. Even to allude to the two issues in the same subject. As if the pedophilia really IS combined with the pastoral care, which makes it even worse.

WE Adult Victims DID NOT commit the crimes that resulted in this situation.

The ATTORNEYS would never have had to be called in the first place if it had not been for these crimes and the Church not being willing to do anything about them.

Jeff Anderson did not set out to sue the Vatican, he DISCOVERED evidence of collusion all the way to the Vatican through one or two small lawsuits, and diligence.

That quote above is Joe Maher, president of Opus Bono Sacerdotii, a Detroit group that provides spiritual, legal and financial support to accused priests, quoted in Minneapolis Star Tribune feature article about Jeff Anderson, quoted all over the internet last two days. Here in NewsObserver of NC
