Our stories mean nothing as long as people continue to treat the perpetrators with respect. Our horror is invalidated when the press continues to follow and quote cardinals and popes, when world leaders take time on their itineraries for a Vatican visit, and when our families and friends continue to don rosaries and float back into that Church.
At least how this victim sees it, when knowledgable people commit those acts of continuing respect for the Catholic Church, it invalidates our decades of damages, because to me, you are continuing to honor that church as if all this didn't even happen.
There are plenty of other Christian churches. It is NOT a sin to go to a different church, someone made that up.
